while in Dumaguete, central Visayas in the Philippines, i chanced upon this vendor selling rosaries, charms, concoctions, home remedies and healing oils in the Dumaguete Cathedral…Most churches in the Philippines are hosts to these vendors which ply goods such as these. Predominantly Catholic most of the poor Filipinos buy these faith based products which include remedies for almost any kind of ailments and the more controversial “pamparegla” concoctions and some amulets said to protect against evil spirits.
